Our Mission

Our mission to be an example to the world of God’s faithfulness to those who follow and obey Him. It is our responsibility as Believers in Yeshua(Jesus) to be a light to the world and to spread the Gospel of Messiah to all mankind.

Shalom Rome is a community of Messianic Jews and Christians that learn about the Jewish liturgies and holidays throughout the year. We recognize that Yeshua(Jesus) is the Messiah of Israel, and we worship him together!

History

  • In 1989, In Focus Baptist Church began a new ministry here in Rome, GA under the leadership of Dr. Steve and Genie Coyle. Through the guidance of Pastor Coyle and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we began to learn about the Hebraic roots of our New Covenant faith.
  • On July 31, 2010, the transition was made from being a denominational Baptist church to that of a non-denominational Messianic congregation and the name was changed to Congregation Beth Aliyah (Hebrew for “House of Return”) to reflect the new path that we were on.
  • In 2014, retirement approached for Pastor Coyle and through much prayer, the elders of Congregation Beth Aliyah determined that Rabbi Mark and Daniah Greenberg were the ones to lead in taking this community forward on the next leg of the journey. Rabbi Mark leads by example. He believes that the hallmark of faith is an abiding trust that our Father knows best.

It was decided that with our new direction and emphasis on establishing His peace in our lives and our community, the congregation would move forward under the new name, Shalom Rome.
